Silky Locoweed (Oxytropis sericea)
Photographed in Colorado in the Rocky Mountain National Park on June 19th and 26th, 2011
and on Hwy 40, westbound, on July 5, 2011.
Note that in both locations the plants of mixed form and color were in close proximity with the common form of sericea.

White silky locoweed in the most common form
with a lavender variant in front of it.

Long skinny form

Short squat form

Beautiful rose caylx

Short squat flowers

Weber notes in his botanical keys that sp. lambertii crosses with sp. sericea. We suspect that this lined form of inflorescense may be a result.

Lovely color variant; magenta caylx with lavender inflorescence.
Busy bug.
